Welcome to the very last showcase of 2017 Rhysling Award-nominated poets. Their poetry can be found in full in the Anthology (which if you are a member, you will receive and if you are not, you may
purchase a PDF or pre-order the print anthology now), but we will link to the nominated poems here where possible (some poems appear only in print but we'll do our best). With this, the conclusion of the amazingly large and diverse list of nominees for the Rhysling this year, it's a pleasure to be able to introduce (or re-introduce) so many gifted poets to the reading public.

Eun-byeol Kim is a Korean-Chinese-American author, equestrienne, calligrapher, and editor with too many books and not enough bookshelves. She grew up in the California Bay Area, studied in upstate New York, and is now an MA candidate in Washington, DC. In her (non-existent) spare time, she is a practitioner of krav maga, a self-defence instructor, and a volunteer at her local fire department. You can find her on twitter at

Jennifer Lawrence is the author of several novels and a collection of pagan-oriented poetry entitled
Listening for their Voices. She considers herself all of the following: "Book addict, poet, crazy cat lady, garden junkie, published author, pagan, very left-wing, grandma."
Muriel Leung is from Queens, NY. Her writing can be found or is forthcoming in
The Collagist, Fairy Tale Review, Ghost Proposal,
Jellyfish Magazine, inter|rupture, and others. She is a recipient of a Kundiman fellowship and is a regular contributor to The Blood-Jet Writing Hour poetry podcast. She is also a poetry reader for
Apogee Journal. Currently, she is pursuing her PhD in Creative Writing and Literature at University of Southern California. Her first book
Bone Confetti was published by Noemi Press in October 2016.
Darren Lipman graduated from NC State University with his master's in mathematics and a minor in poetry. He's currently moving from his hometown of Asheboro, NC, to Milwaukee, where he'll teach high school mathematics as a Teach for America 2016 corps member. Find him at

We, and by that is meant all the writers here at SpecPo (Matt Betts, Deborah Davitt, Vince Gotera, Christina Rau, Diane Severson Mori, Shannon Connor Winward and Bryan Thao Worra), would like to that you for taking this journey with us - our first Rhysling Poets' Showcase. Very often, poet biographies are not included in anthologies, and for space reasons, the Rhysling Anthology is no exception. We do believe that it is important or at least interesting to meet the person behind that imaginative, thought-provoking, beautiful, moving, amazing poem and we hope you've enjoyed learning about them and reading some great poetry along the way!
