Winner Biographies

F.J. Bergmann frequents Wisconsin and fibitz.com. She is the editor of Star*Line and the poetry editor of Mobius: The Journal of Social Change. Out of the Black Forest is her fourth non-self-published chapbook, which owes a great deal to its illustrator, Kelli Hoppmann.

Mary Turzillo’s Nebula winner, “Mars Is no Place for Children,” and her Analog novel An Old-Fashioned Martian Girl are recommended reading on the International Space Station. She's been on the British SFA, Pushcart, Stoker, Dwarf Stars and Rhysling ballots. Her chapbook Blade Work was a quarter-finalist in the 2012 Mary Ballard Casey Shay competition. Her work appears in Asimov's, Analog, Goblin Fruit, Star*Line, Dreams and Nightmares, and elsewhere. Lovers & Killers, her 2013 Elgin winner, is crypto-autobiographical, which is scary.
