For those of you attending CONvergence in Minnesota this year, there are several fun poetry-centered readings and workshops throughout the schedule. We'd be delighted to see you there!
Among the key highlights of interest for our fellow speculative poets is the CONvergence Poetry Slam on Friday night, and the Giant Lizard Theater reading on Saturday morning. Award-winning SFPA member Saymoukda Duangphouxay Vongsay is one of the Guests of Honor this year. SFPA President Bryan Thao Worra and SFPA Vice-President Sandra Lindow are confirmed to be in attendance for 2017.
CONvergence is an annual convention for fans of Science Fiction and Fantasy in all media: a 4-day event with more than 6,000 members, and one of the premiere events of its kind in the upper mid-west. This year's theme is: To Infinity & Beyond, intended as "a celebration of all things space opera. Whether the hero is fated to a mythic destiny through blood or prophecy, or simply an average galactic citizen caught up in incredible circumstance, their adventures satisfy our hunger for the optimistic triumph of the individual and the common good."
