Retinal Exchange

Morning brings expectation before the gaze.
Scan breadth of garden to determine direction of autumn.

As fruit follows blossom flesh supplies common bone.
Of skyward mirror, a small puddle remains.

Snails vanish in gathering cold.
When moisture dispels dryness, the dewpoint swells.

The air worn garments reiterate a story well told.
The random inserts itself into a blunt routine.

Rogue callings leak back in just the right time.
To practice its own lines, amber and scarlet vibrate in
   retinal exchange.
