Elizabeth Searle Lamb

                  Twin Towers View One

      Morning Gift: Philippe Petit

(who walked a cable between the tops of the
New York City Trade Towers, 110 stories up,
    on August 7, 1974)

walking in the air

jubilant in his

"above the above"

of the citywaking

      so secure in his own

      knowledge of his being

      and the sure touch

      of foot to cable

"if I see three oranges,

I have to juggle;

and if I see two towers,

I have to walk"

      giving us a magic

      antidote

      to the heavy stuff

      of gravity
