VII
The rain continues, ground well soaked.
Heaven and Earth embrace
tendrils of clouds wind their way down
into the dark gash of the Rio Grande Gorge.
In the West the sun sets
brilliant in its daily dying
the whole sky filled with
creamsickle light, magenta clouds resting
on deep purple peaks.
With one final shudder
it's gone.
