Return to Issue #1, Santa Fe Poetry Broadside
Joan Logghe and Miriam Sagan, editors of Another Desert: Jewish Poetry of New
Mexico, are offering a series of workshops and readings for your community, synagogue,
youth groups, or Hillel organization.
- A poetry reading, presenting their own work and those of others in the anthology, would include
informal comments on the origin of the book and Jewish life in New Mexico.
- A lecture of 45 minutes to an hour on the myth and history of the hidden Jews of New
Mexico. The influence of recent interest and research on the crypto-Jews on New Mexican art and
artist would be explored through readings from the anthology, discussion, and slides.
- A writing workshop, Finding Your Jewish Voice: Exploring the Jewish
Experience. Both writers have conducted writing workshops on Jewish themes and have taught
extensively throughout the country. Workshops could range from two
hours to an entire day.
Pricing and scheduling negotiable on all of the above.
