- Tom Ireland
- Tom Ireland grew up in New York City, studied at Harvard and Stanford, and moved to
New Mexico in 1971.Lama Foundation published his journals, Invisible Worm (with
Alyosha Zim and John McClellan) and Mostly Mules, an account of a journey by mule
through the Southwest. From 1976 to 1983 he lived near the village of La Madera in Northern New
Mexico, where he built a house, raised sheep, and wrote. His book, Birds of Sorrow: Notes
from a River Junction in Northern New Mexico (Zephyr Press, 1991) came out of this
period. He holds an M. A. in creative writing from Stanford and has worked as an animal trainer,
builder, artist-in-residence and book editor. He lives in Santa Fe.

- Margi Weir
- Margi Weir was educated at Wheaton College, San Francsico Art Institute, New
Mexico State University, and U.C.L.A. She has had more than a dozen
solo exhibitions, and appeared in many group exhibitions. Her work hangs in
many public collections. In addition to pastel works such as those
featured in this issue of the Broadside, she is working in acrylic, and with a three-dimensional
acrylic form she calls 'Paint as Objects'.
